In the Davis Cup matches in the semi-final in the American zone, Japan is playing America. In the singles Hennessey (America) defeated Tamio Abe, B—6, 6 —l, 3—6, 6—l. Toshiro Ohta (Japan) defeated Van Cryn (America), 6 —4, 5—7, 2—6 6—4, 7—5. In the doubles Hennessey and Van Cryn defeated Ohta and Abe, 6 —3, 6—4, 6—2.
