The ‘break 1 present at No. 3 level does not appear to exist at this level. The drive has been carried along the footwall, and a, crosscut is being put out to prove the width and value of the reef. The crosscut west has been suspended and the Silver Queen reef has been located and driven upon for 38ft. A valuable block is being opened on this reef, which contained high values at No. 3 level. In the south section at No. 3 level operations have been hindered bv a heavy fall in the main crosscut. The present face is now out 226 ft south of the main rise and a great improvement has taken place in the character of the ore. At the mill, construction work is being proceeded with as expeditiously as possible The foundations for the fourth tube-mill have now been completed, and the riveting of the tall tanks is wed advanced The earthwork for the tramwav is being pushed ahead and timber for bridges prepared." i c MELBOURNE HIDES SALE F : c MELBOURNE, Thursday. | At the Melbourne hides sale today good- n conditioned parcels of lights, kips and mediums were unchanged in price.
