CAR PUSHED OVER CLIFF
STOLEN IN KARANGAHAPE ROAD CHRYSLER STILL MISSING A Morris-Cowiey motor-car, valued at £2OO, which was stolen from Karangahape Road last night, was found wrecked on the new waterfront road at Orakei this morning. It had evidently been pushed over a cliff about Soft high on to the rocks below. The car is the property of Mr. Charles Ernest Ward, of 58 Richmond Road, Ponsonby. Last evening he parked his car in Karangahape Road at about 7.30 o’clock. AVhen Mr. Ward returned at 10.30 the car was missing. This morning Mr. Newman, timekeeper for the Public Works Department, reported that the missing car was lying at the foot of the cliff at Orakei. A second car, a Chrysler, the property of Mr. John Fitzgerald, of 66 Mount Albert Road, was stolen from Bucklands Road some time last evening. It bears the registered number 56-721 and is painted a fawn colour with black mudguards. There is no cap on the petrol tank, the opening to which is covered with a piece of cloth.
