ZEPP. SHORT OF GAS
DEPARTURE DELAYED TILL MAY 23 NO PASSENGERS TO GO (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (Untied Service) Reed. Noon. TOULON, Tuesday. The Graf Zeppelin is still in the hangar at Cuers, confronted with the difficulty of a shortage of gas precluding its departure before May 23, when it will be allowed to remain for some hours in the sunshine in the hope of expanding the gas and increasing the lifting power. Passengers will not be taken, Dr. Eckener fearing that the extra weight may prevent the Zeppelin from rising above the mountains between here and Friedrichshafen.
