TWO UNBEATEN TEAMS
City Meets Shore in Big League Clash at Carlaw Park Tomorrow
CURTAIN-RAISER PROMISES CLASSY FOOTBALL
LEAGUE RUGBY’S bill of fare for tomorrow lias created considerable interest tliroughcmt the week, for the feature match wilt be the meeting of the only two unbeaten thirteens in the competition, City and Shore. And a classy standard of football is also promised in the curtain-raiser to the big game on the main area, when Richmond and Ponsonbv, two sides which have starred in some of the most gruelling contests witnessed this season, will meet.
For some weeks now the brilliant Shore thirteen has liacl to be content with playing matches of a lesser importance away from Carlaw Park, arul it is with open arms that the League code fans will welcome it back at headquarters tomorrow. City, which is possibly the most improved side in the senior competition, is playing good football, and whatever may be predicted for tomorrow, it certainly does not appear likely that the “so far’* invincible Shore Leaguers will have it all their own way. Both sides feature staunch sets of forwards, but it is in the rearguard line that the seasiders may show superiority. It is probable that it will result in a dour struggle between the City forwards and the elusive Shore backs. Ponsonby and Richmond have only had one loss each, and a great game is expected. On No. 2 ground, Newton will met Ellerslie in the three o'clock clash, while at 1.45 Marists and Kingsland will try conclusions. Senior A Grade Ellerslie.—Johnson, Dance.
