COLLISION WITH BRIDGE
INTOXICATED MOTORIST FINED £2O (From Usr Own Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, Thursday. A plea of not guilty to a charge of being under the influence of liquor and not being in a fit state to drive a car was entered by Edwin Warmington, sen., when charged in the Dargaville Magistrate’s Court today before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M. After evidence had been given that defendant collided with the approach to a bridge, he was fined £2O and costs £3 17s 6d. At counsel’s request the cancellation of defendant’s licence to drive was withdrawn, as the car was used only for defendant’s conveyance between his home at Te Kopuru and his work at Pukehuia. Three months was allowed for the payment of the fine and costs.
