FAREWELL TO GEORGE WALLACE Tho final Auckland performance of the George 'Wallace Revue Company was presented at the St. James Theatre last evening, to a house which had been booked, to capacity a week ago. George Wallace's record season oi -1 weeks was brought to a most successful conclusion, and every member of the company received a rousing farewell. During his long stay here, in which he gave no less than 10s performances, Wallace retained his popularity to a remarkable degree. He is an actor of unusual versatility, equally at home with musical instruments and eccentric dancing, and is the author of many of his own revues Last evening he presented a large number of request items, and. at the conclusion, thanked the public for its support. He stated that he hoped to return later with some new revues and songs. BRITISH STUDIOS BUSY The Elstree Studios of British International Pictures, the key to the British Studio activity, are now in full blast. Not less than six British International units are at work on interior scenes, including “Mary Was Love,” “Blackmail,” in which Sarah Allgood, well remembered in this country for her performance in “Peg o’ My Heart,” “The Compulsory Husband,” with Monty Banks, “A Romance of Seville,” with Alexandra D'Arcy, and “The Flying Scotchman, with Estelle Brody and Cyril McLaglen.
