DISTRICT METHODIST SYNODS
SUCCESS OF EASTER CAMPS Reports on the recent Easter camps held in connection with the Young People’s Bible Class movement were submitted to the session of the May District Synod of the Methodist Church yesterday afternoon by various ministers in whose circuits the camps were held. A resolution expressing satisfaction at the good results of the camps and congratulating the authorities on the success of their work was passed. The opportunities and prospects of the work of the Church in the Far North were reported on by the Rev. H. S. King, of the Wliangaroa circuit, who was thanked for his report. Questions relating to the circulation of the “New Zealand Methodist Times” were discussed, and a resolution urging Methodist people to support the paper was passed.
MEETINGS AT TE KUITI
The Methodist Synod meetings, which this year were held at Te Kuiti, were concluded on Wednesday evening at a meeting over which the Rev. W. A. Burley, M.A., of Thames, presided. Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, Mayor of Te Kuiti, extended a welcome to the delegates, the Rev. J. W. Parker, of Cambridge, replying. Addresses were given by the Rev. J. L. Mitchell on “The Fundamental of Christian Love” and the Rev. H. J. Odell on “The Adventure of Faith.” A commission met to inquire Into the possibilities of church extension in the King Country, and its findings will be made to the department concerned. “Spiritual Advance,” which inaugurated in recent years, was dis- ; cussed and reports given of plans being made in various circuits for the winter’s work. A vote of thanks for the fine hospitality extended by the hosts and hostesses was passed. The next meeting wi±i be held jjjo<torua» “* ;
