SETTLEMENT POUCY URGED ENTHUSIASM AT TE KUITI Press A ssociation TE KUITI Today. One of the most representative meetings ever held in the district took place last evening when representatives of local bodies. Chamber of Commerce and settlers met in Te Kuiti to discuss land settlement along’ the Main Trunk line. It pointed out that large areas of land between Te Awamutu and Taihape were available for land settlement and a series of resolutions was passed urging the Government to take action to have these areas investigated, with the view of adopting a concentrated settlement policy, so that settlers can have the use of publt amenities, the lack of which is detrimental to land development. The meeting was most enthusiastic, the 70 present representing 30 different bodies from Awamutu, Otorohanga. Te Kuiti. Taumarunui and as far South as Waimarino. It was decided to send a delegation to meet the Prime Minister and submit the resolutions.
