GAOL FOR THIEVES
VISITORS FROM AUCKLAND Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Described by the chief-detective as members of the criminal class with rather bad previous histories, Manuel Vaivoi, aged 26. a clerk, and Oswald Harris, aged 25, a labourer, to-day pleaded guilty to stealing wearing apparel and five bangles, valued at £3, the property of some person or persons unknown, and four greenstone pendants, valued at £3 3s 6d, the property of Percy Denton. It was stated that the men came from Auckland on May 3 and had since been sleeping out, and shop lifting during the day. They had not been long out of gaol. They were each tentenced to six months’ imprisonment on each charge, the terms to be cumulative.
