MAY DAY DANCE AT BAYSWATER
A “May Day” dance will be hela bv the Takapuna Boating: Club in its clubhouse, Bayswatcr. to-morrow evening. Music will be provided by the Ritz Orchestra, and dancing will continue until 1 a.m. Late transport arrangements are advertised. “The Collegians” are to have a vamp. In none of the three preceding series has there been such a person, but in their senior year and with the introduction of sound and dialogue. Carl Laemmle, Junior, feels that this element would not be out of place. Dixie Dav is the name of the vamp. Nat Ross will direct, and the cast will include Dorothy Gulliver. George Lewis. Eddie Phillips. Hayden Stevenson and Summer Getchell. Paramount will pioneer in the production of an all-talking musical comedy. It is to be titled “The Cocoanuts.” and will star the “Four Marx Brothers,” favourites on Broadway musical comedy and vaudeville stages. Others signed for the production are Oscar Shaw and Mary Eaton, of Ziegfeld fame.
