GAOL FOR MAORI VICTIM BADLY HURT (From Our Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, To-day. Harry Pirihi, a Maori youth, aged 20, was sentenced to two months hard labour by Mr. J. H. Luxford S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning for a brutal assault on H W. Hubbard at a boardinghouse kepi by Hubbard’s wife. The magistrate said he hesitated as to whether he should not send Pirihi to the Supreme Court. Hubbard’s face was badly dis figured. The assault took place lasl night.
