TAURANGA POWER BOARD
THREE YEARS OF PROGRESS The secretary of the Tauranga Power Board, submitted the following statement as to some of the activities of the present board during its three years’ existence. Eighteen miles of high tension lines have been erected, not including any service or low tension lines run beneath the 11.000 volt lines. The board has run 136 miles of lines over the number laid down in the original loan scheme. During the three years 77 new consumers were added to the list, the total now being 815. The revenue had increased each year as follows: —1927. £ 15,108: 1928, £ 15.967 ; 1929, £20.172. 'When the board came into olliee the amount outstanding for installation work was £11.168. During the three years further work to the extent of £25,180 had been done. At the end of the financial year only £2.615 was owing by consumers for advances. The amount written off for bad debts was £ 52. Messrs. JJ. J. Gill and B. G. Robbins announced that it was not their intention to seek re-election. All the other members are seeking re-election. The board decided to join the Auckland Automobile Association, and to place the whole of its insurances with Lloyds.
