This Factory is the outcome of the experience of the world’s best experts, both with regard to the manufacture of Tobacco, and with regard to the welfare and well-being of those employed in it. The object of The Dominion Tobacco Company is to present to Smokers brands of Tobacco containing Leaf grown in New Zealand, which, when blended with the highest grades of imported Leaf will give the smoke desired by New Zealanders. The machinery and equipment for the manufacture and packing of tobaccos and cigarettes are the most up-to-date inexistence, and the first of their kind brought to New Zealand. THE Company’s experts have been quietly working in the tobacco growing districts in New Zealand assisting the farmers to grow and cure the best possible tobacco. The Dominion Tobacco Company arranged for the erection of the only flue curing barns in the country, and for the first time New Zealand Leaf is flue cured—this method replacing the older and uncertain system—thus absolutely ensuring to the smoker always a purity and evenness of taste. The older tobacco growing countries, as the result of long experience, have found that the flue curing process preserves the best natural qualities of the Leaf. NTO expense has been spared in design or equipment in order to guarantee the excellence of the brands of Tobacco produced in this Factory. Smokers will soon learn for themselves that New Zealand possesses one of the most up-to-date Tobacco Factories in the world, where the facilities and experience at the disposition of the Company have resulted in a very marked advance in tobacco quality and value. The Dominion Tobacco Company has pleasure in placing before New Zealand smokers, three new brands, which it feels confident are worthy of the name “ SILVER FERN.” They are : "■Silver Fern "Silver Fern ' “Silver Fern ’ Smoking Tobacco (Mild). Cut Plug. Navy Cut. Each blend contains New Zealand grown Leaf, which has been flue cured and smokers will be quick to recognise the better results obtained by this improved method, whereby the bad effects of unfavourable weather are avoided, and the best qualities of tobacco are developed and sealed in the leaf.
