TWC MEN CHARGED WITH THEFT Arrested on sight this morning. Cyril Stephen Mutch and John F. McCarthy were brought to the Police Court on a, charge of stealing 11 bars of lead, valued at £l6 10s, the property of the Auckland Gas Company. The men were remanded to appear again on April 23. -Is bail needed for these men?” Mr. F! K. Hunt, S.M., asked Sub-Inspector McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy: I do not think so. Mutch is a farm hand, 20 years of age, and McCarthy is a labourer, aged 27. The police said they were not prepared to proceed with the case at present.
