ALBATROSS CAUGHT

CRASHED INTO RIGGING Press Association WELLINGTON, Tuesday. While the steamer Calm was making her way from Lyttelton to Wellington through a heavy fog on Saturday morning, a large albatross crashed into the rigging and fell to the deck. The bird was stunned by the force of the impact, and for the rest of the voyage was carefully looked after by members of the crew. Fortunately, the albatross did not receive any serious injuries, and when the Calm left Wellington yesterday for 'Wanganui, it was intended to release it as soon as the vessel cleared the Heads.
