SWIMMING CARNIVAL

VARSITY SPORTS ON THURSDAY With the Auckland University College Swimming Club's big carnival at the Tepid Baths on Thursday evening, the last will be seen of swimming this season. Events are being provided for visitors, and Kna Stockley will attempt to break her New Zealand women’s backstroke records for 100 yards and 100 metres. Dorothy Grant is also making an attempt on the New Zealand women’s free-style time over 220 yards. Peggy Robertson, New Zealand intermediate girl champion, is another competitor in the women's events. J. P. Farrell, Auckland sprint champion. and University champion over 50 yards and 100 yards, will defend his title, and D. Hyauiason. holder of the University yards title, will also race. V. Rix-Trott, formerly one of Wellington's outstanding swimmers, is now at the University, and is entered in several events.
