MARCH CARGOES

INCREASE AT AUCKLAND HARBOUR FIGURES During March 130,905 tons of cargo arrived in the port of Auckland, showing an increase of 11,389 tons .over last year. In the passenger returns there were 1,038 arrivals and 1.980 departures. The cargo came from the following sources: Coastal ports (New Zealand), 45,254 tons; Pacific Islands, 11,207 tons; Australia, 5,913 tons; Belgium, 20,850 tons; Java, 6,671 tons; Straits Settlements, 3,285 tons; South Africa, 65u tons; United Kingdom, 4,795 tons: Canada, 4,591 tons; United States of America, 17,689 tons.
