\ p TER losing ground at the start of her race the first day, Bessie Bingen trotted a steady pace to pick up third money. On Saturday she began correctly and soon showed the opposition a clean parr of heels, to win in easy fashion. “Skipper ’ Price has something worth looking after in Ureat Bingen's sister, and it will not be surprising to see her turn out another Native Star for the painstaking Palmerston North owner-trainer. Skipper treats the mare like a spoiled child, and prior to the start of the Borough Trot on Saturday humoured her with apples. It evidently had the desired effect as Bessie never looked to go wrong at any part of the contest.
