LUNA PARK
OPEN THIS EVENING Despite the recent wet weather all the fun of the fair is promised at the Luna Park amusement area this evening. All the permanent devices are in full working order, and as most of them are under cover they have not suffered from the rain. The sideshows and the Palais de Danse should be well patronised. All the profits from Luna Park during the coming week commencing this evening will be handed to the Community Sunshine Club to help them in their work in caring for the children of the city. ORGAN RECITAL A particularly interesting programme has been arranged for the recital in the Town Hall to-morrow (Sunday) evening. In addition to standard works by Bach and Hollins, Mr. Maughan Barnett will play Elgar's recently published minuet, “Beau Brummel." a Sonata by Bridge, for many years organist of Westminster Abbey, Mansfield’s Concert Scherzo, and Wagner’s “Star of Eve.” “Dawn,” probably the most discussed picture in the world to-day, is set for early presentation on a grand scale at Hoyt’s colossal New Regent Theatre at Melbourne Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane will also see the picture in the near future. “Dawn” is controlled exclusively by British Dominions Films.
