YACHTING ON MANUKAU

The Manukau Yacht Club and the Manukau Cruising - Club will join forces to-morrow afternoon in combined yacht and launch races. The course for yachts will be: Start between end of main wharf and flags on jetty, thence between second red buoy and Colson’s beacon, thence to the sixth red buoy, thence round the black buoy off end of main wharf, thence to the sixth red buoy and finish between end of main wharf and flags on jetty. Sail round all marks; no gybing. Launches: Start between end of main wharf and flags on jetty, thence between the second red buoy and Colson’s beacon, thence to the fifth red buoy, thence round dolphin off wharf, thence to the fifth red buoy, thence 10 finish between end of main wharf and flags on jetty. All rounding marks to be kept on starboard hand. Yachts will commence from a flying start at 2.30 and launches .at 2.45. also from a flying start. Aoma has challenged Waiapu for the Fearon Challenge Cup. and this will be decided in conjunction with the yacht race. Following are the entries and handicaps : Yachts —Aoma, on wind, scr., off wind, ser.: Myra, lm, scr; Sylvia, Im, 2m; Champagne. 2m. lm; W aiapu, 4m. 2m; Sea Horse, 6m, 4m: Sea Gnome, 14m, 7m; Lone Star, 15m, Sin: Hetty. 24m, ISm; Florence, 24m, 18m; Miss Mac, 25m. 20m; Mistmaid, Sea Lion, Una, 42m, Launches —Miss Clevedon, scr.: Felix, lm; Rosita. 8m: Miss Huia, 11m 30s; Surprise, 11m 30s; Dione, 15m: Karma, 16m; Rainbow. 26m: Elma, 27m 455; Mamselle. 30m 30s; Senorita. A.H.8., Miharo. Hinemoa, 32m; Mermaid, 33m; Regal, 33m 30s; Lily Meg, Morman, 34m; Katui, 37m 15s: Wanderer, 3Ss: Ramona, lolanthe, 47m 30s; Ngaroma, 50m 30s. The final model yacht race of the season will be held during the afternoon. Competitors are requested to be early on account of the tide.
