PARENTS EXPLOITED
SCHOOL BOOK CHANGES ASSOCIATION COMPLAINS (Special to THE SUN) DUNEDIN. Thursday. The v iew that parents were being exploited through the too frequent changes of school books was expressed at the quarterly meeting of the School Committees’ Association this evening. Exception was also taken to school inspectors being allowed to hold shares in printing companies whic h published school books. The following resolutions were carried :—That this association forward a protest to the Education Board regarding the constant changes in school books, with a request that it be sent to the department, and that a copy also be forwarded to each association: that the question of inspectors holding shares in printing firms turning out school books be referred to the executive.’’
