Obituary
MR. GEORGE FEGAN Mr. George Fegan, rho has died at Albany at the age of 84, was born at West Meath, Ireland, and came to New Zealand in 1906, and lived in Auckland until recently. Mr. Fegan is survived by bis wife, and an adult family of two sons and five daughters. There are five grandchildren. The funeral took place at the Birkenhead Cemetery yesterday. MR. WALTER BARTLETT One of the oldest of Auckland’s residents, Mr. Walter Bartlett died at Ellerslie on Monday at the age of 84. Born in Devonshire, Mr. Bartlett came to New Zealand in 1848 with his parents and settled in Auckland, where he was apprenticed to the engineering trade. He engaged in farming at Cambridge for some time, but returned to Auckland 45 years ago and for over 90 years conducted a grocery business in Ellerlie. He retired from active business many years ago. Mrs. Bartlett died seven years ago and of late years Mr. Bartlett has lived at Ladies’ Mile with his only son Mr. j William Bartlett, a member of the Ellerslie Town Board. I
