The Rev. Dr. J. Gibb, of Wellington, arrived in Auckland this morning by T he Limited. The Hon. W. W. Snodgrass, M.L.C., returned to Wellington last evening on the Limited. Hia Excellency, the Governor-Gen-eral, left by the Limited for Wellington last evening. He will return to Auckland on Thursday morning. The Rev. C. Chandler left last evening for Wellington, where he will attend the annual convention of the y.M.C.A. Dr. R. S. Steele, of Sydney, arrived from London by the Port Napier after having been abroad for the last three yir, J. F. Mackley, who recently .announced his retirement from the position of locomotive engineer. North Island railways, returned from Wellington yesterday. Colonel W. L. H. Sinclair Burgess, C.M.G., D. 5.0.. Chief of Staff, New Zealand Military Forces, arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Commissioner James Hay, head of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, who attended a meeting of the Army chiefs in London, returned t<s Wellington yesterday morning. Mr. F. J. Woodland, a retired English magistrate, arrived in New Zealand by the Port Napier from London. He is ~n his way to Australia to visit relations. Accompanying him are his wife and daughter.
