TARANAKI WINS CRICKET
GAME AGAINST WAIKATO Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. The Taranaki representative cricketers defeated the Waikato representatives by eight wickets. In the first innings Waikato made 100, Taranaici at the drawing of stumps yesterday having made 143 for four wickets. The remaining Taranaki wickets fell cheaply to-day, the side being out for 179. Johnston took four wickets with four successive balls. Waikato were dismissed in the second innings for 54 runs, and Taranaki needed six to win. These they gained with the los3 of two wickets. INTER-COLLEGE MATCH Press Association WELLINGTON, Monday. The annual cricket match between the Auckland and Wellington Training Colleges commenced on Saturday. In their first innings, Wellington made 69 runs (Cowan 27, Gibson 11). Lawrie took three wickets for 7 runs. Ball two for 8 and Butler two for 11. In their first innings Auckland scored 316 runs. Baillie took three wickets for 104, Leet three for 51, and Walker two for 39. Wellington, in their second innings, made 97 (Welch 28). Guy took four wickets for 22, and Weir tw r o for 1.
