AURORA AUSTRALIS
YACHTSMEN AT KAWAU WITNESS FINE SIGHT DISPLAY LAST SUNDAY Burly on Sunday morning yachtsmen lying at anchor at Kawau witnessed one of the finest displays of tho Aurora Australis ever witnessed at Auckland. For half an hour people watched in admiration beams of white light streaming into the inky sky from tho Mr. A. F. Miller, on the yacht Moana. was tho first to notice lblights of the Aurora Australis. Ho called his companions on the yacht and others in tho vicinity. Soon u. large crowd was watching the magnificent display of light in the heavens. Mr. Miller said that the whole sky, from the horizon to the zenith, was streaked with the beams of light, which faded away and reappeared three times during the half-hour.
