INSULTS BANDIED
ANGRY FRENCH DEPUTIES (Australian and N.Z. Press Associationi Reed. 1.41 p.m. PARIS, Friday. There was a two-hours’ pandemonium in the Chamber, arising from Socialist allegations that 300 soldiers in the Rhineland died owing to neglect during the recent Arctic weather. Insults were bandied across the Chamber. M. Painleve, Minister of War, pointed out that all over Europe the influenzt epidemic had been most secere. In the Rhineland, 40 soldiers died from influenza in January, 167 in February and 56 in March to date.
