“WILL BE LEGAL IN TWO WEEKS,” SAYS MR. RUSHWORTH PUBLICATION OF DIVIDENDS KAITAIA, Friday. At a meeting at Kaitala Mr. 11. M. Rusliworth, the Country Party candidato for the Bay of Islands seat, was asked by Mr. H. G. Dean, the wellknown North Auckland racing man, if lie was in favour of legalising the teleSraphing of money to the totalisator ana the publication of dividends Mr. Rush worth, replied that it would be law within two weeks. Mr. Dean pointed out that a vcfte would be taken, and he wanted to know it Mr. Rushworth was elected how he would vote. "There will not be any vote, the Government is doing it by Order-in-Council," replied Mr. Rushworth - Dean was not satisfied and later m the meeting- again put the question to the candidate, who stated emphatically that the Government was doing as he had already said, and further that the Hon. P. A. de la PereHe, Minister of Internal Affairs, had quite recently informed him that such steps were being taken immediately by the Government. Mr. Dean then said: “Will you support it?” Mr. Rushworth: There is nothing to support: it is being done.” Mr. Dean concluded by saying: “I think you are wrong.”
