“QUEEN OF SOCCER”

CROWNING CEREMONY TO-NIGHT A brilliant spectacle will be witnessed at Bland lord Park this evening, when the long awaited coronation of the Queen of Soccer Football. Miss Marjory Simpson, will take place. The queen, five princesses, accompanied by their court and attendant fairies, the Archbishop, LouJ High Chancellor. Herald. Sceptre, Crown. Orb and standard bearers all in court costumes, will make a vivid note of colour. The ceremony is to be carried out in a dignified and impressive man - mer, a light touch being introduced by the pupils of Miss Daphne Knight in a fairy ballet. Another important part of the programme will be an exhibition of evolutions on an "Ayro Wheel” by experts who have been specially trained for the purpose. This will bo tne first exhibition in New Zealand of England’s latest pastime. The movements possible on the wheel are thrilling, and at times sensational.

Other items on the programme are a display by 100 members of the Auckland Girls' Athletic Association attired in attractive costumes and overflow—ing with keenness. Forty-five sturdy lads from the St. Stephen's Maori Col—lege will give a “mnastic and physical drill display. There will also be, several championship races. and during the even—ing the band of the First Battalion, the Auckland Regiment .and Onehunga and Davenport massed bands will play. Speeches will be broadcast to all parts of the ground.
