MRS. ELLEN PARFITT Mrs. Ellon Purtitt, who died at Hamilton yesterday at the age of 83, after a short illness, was the widow of the kite Mr. F. .1. Parfitt. Born in Middlesex, England, Mrs. Parfitt came to New Zealand with her husband in 1877 and they lived at Christchurch, Lawrence and Riverton, going to the Waikato about 22 years ago. Mr. Parfitt died 26 years ago. Mrs. Fartitt is survived by one son, Mr. A. G. Parfitt, of Gordonton. MR. D. C. MITCHELL Mr. Daniel Carline Mitchell, of Belle Vue Road, Mount Eden, who died on Saturday at the ago of 43, had been in the service of the Railway Department for about 25 years, having been stationed at Tc Kuiti, Hamilton, Papaloetoe and Auckland. Born at Brunner, on the West Coast of the South Island. Mr. Mitchell was the eldest son of Mr. David Mitchell and the late Mrs. Mitchell. He is survived by his wife. DR. G. T. GIRDLER Well-known to the Auckland public in the early days as a medical practitioner, Dr. George Toussant Girdler. L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S., Edinburgh and L.S.A., London, died at his home in Alexandra Avenue, Mount Albert, yesterday, at the age of 82. Dr. Girdler was keenly interested in medical military questions. He was never married and he retired a number of years ago. MR. G. T. DAVOREN Mr. George Thomas Davoren, a Maori War veteran, has died at Tauranga nt the age of S 6 years. He was born at Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, in 1843. He joined the Royal Artillery and then emigrated to Australia. Jn 1862 he came to New Zealand and the same year joined the Waikato Regiment and fought in various engagements. Ultimately he settled in Tauranga and opened a grocery and drapery business. He also established the first business at Te Puke. He enjoyed excellent health till a week ago. His wife predeceased him in 3 911. He leaves three sons and two daughters, Messrs. Alfred and Westby Davoren, Tauranga, Joseph Davoren. Auckland and Mrs. Queenin. Kohokohu, and Mrs. Nesbit, Kllerslie.
