KEEN TO COME TO N.Z. POSTS AS COACHES WANTED Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. According to Mr. A. W. Sims, the Canterbury Cricket Association has had an opportunity of engaging as cricket coach either of the famous English internationals, Maurice Tate and P. Hendren. Mr. Sims stated to-day that both these players had been corresponding with him, and both were anxious to obtain appointments in New Zealand next year. They had asked him to do what he could for them. “Naturally, being an old Canterbury cricketer, I gave the Canterbury Association the first refusal, but so far I have had no communication from it,” Mr. Sims said. The committee of the Canterbury Association lias not yet made a decision about coaching next season, but has given the matter much consideration. In the meantime Mr. Sims is negotiating on behalf of Hendren and Tate with other major associations.
