WORKMAN DROWNED
FELL FROM PONTOON Press Association O AMARU, Friday. While working- on a public works pontoon in the middle of the W’aitaki River at the W’aitaki hydro-electric dam site, at 4.45 this afternoon, George Hoffman, middle-aged, widower, fell over the side of the pontoon and was drowned. The public works , staff searched the river, but up to 7 o’clock this evening the body had not been recovered.
