THAMES SWIMMING BATHS

The public swimming baths at Thames have been closed for the past two seasons, as the platform or staging has in places rotted away. To repair the structure was too costly and the matter of enlarging the baths and bringing them up-to-date was placed before the ratepayers in 1927. The proposal was rejected by a substantial majority. The school committee has taken the matter up. and strong representations are to be made to the Borough Council, cither to repair the baths or devise some means whereby the children can be taught to swim.
