Miss Akhurst won the women’s singles, beating Miss Messurier, 6—2, 6— 4, an'i she also won the mixed doubles ’witu Moon, beating Baker and Miss Meaner, 13 —11. 6—l. In the men’s singlet Crawford beat Sproule, 6—4, 6— 3, 6—3. In the men’s doubles Crawford and Hopman beat Clemenger (Victoria) and Moon (Queensland), 6— 3. B—c 3—6, 6 —2. » * * Girl Breaks Own Record In the New South Wales women’s 220 yards swimming championship on Saturday, the 14-year-old girl, Miss Jean Cocks, defeated the title-holder, Miss Edna Davey, by 7yds. Her time was 2min 41 4-ssec, which reduced her own Australian record by 5 3-ssee. Miss Davey’s time was 2min 47 2-ssee. Miss Dulcie Raine was third, in 2min 50 2-ssec.
