BAYNE BEATS POLLARD WRESTLING AT TE AWAMUTU (From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, Saturday. Although he had to concede nearly a stone in weight, Charlie Pollard gave W. Bayne a great tussle in a lightheavyweight wrestling match staged heer this evening. Each man secured one fall, and Bayne was awarded the decision on points. Bayne weighed in at 13.3 and Pollard at 12.4. The bout was over six rounds of 10 minutes each. Pollard secured the first fall in the third round with a leg-scissors hold, and Bayne equalised in the next round with an arm roll. After the bout Pollard challenged Bayne to another contest of eight rounds for £SO a-side, falls only to count. Bayne accepted the challenge.
