STREETS UNDER WATER

FLOOD IN N.S.W. TOWN

Reed. 12.30 p.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A message from Kempsey, New South Wales, states that serious floods have occurred on the Macleav River. As it is still raining heavily, indications are that the position maybecome worse. The river is a raging torrent, and low-lying country is inundated by water, 'which is 4ft deep in some parts of Kempsey. The majority of the people have vacated their homes. A few people are still marooned, but are not in serious danger. Disastrous floods are also feared in other North Coast rivers.
