His Holiday
Sir Harry Lauder may Make Film at Russell MUST CATCH SWORDFISH Zane Grey may have a rival in telling the world of New Zealand’s big fiisli. It is possible that Sir Harry Lauder may play the lead in a motion picture to be made at Russell. The famous Scottish comedian has hopes of doing this before he leaves the Dominion. Sir Harry, in kilts, pursuing swordfish and mako shark, seems full of possibilities. So far he has caught only a small mako shark. As he remarked on the - Rotorua express this morning: “It was something." But he is determined to catch a giant swordfish, and will go North again after he has visited Rotorua and Taupo, remembering the old adage so keenly cultivated by Robert the Bruce. “My, but this is a wonderful little country,” said Sir Harry this morning. “I’m enjoying the first real holiday I’ve ever had in my life." The diminutive Scot was all smiles. So were the porters in attendance. It seems that Sir Harry has killed another source of supply for the manufacturers of droll stories about thrift. In a fortnight Sir Harry will know whether he is to do another tour of New Zealand. He wishes to, but the final arrangements have yet to be completed, he said this morning, without mentioning that it wouid be a farewell performance. When he returns, to England he will act in another film. One he made before leaving is almost ready for distribution. Strangely enough, Sir Harry has dispensed with his kilts for this trip. He was clad in an ordinary lounge suit. Even the knotted stick is missing. But then, as he said, he is on a real holiday.
