RIALTO, AND REGENT, EPSOM
“PAY AS YOU ENTER” The comic possibilities of a tramcar have been exploited to the fullest extent in “Pay As You Enter,” now at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres, which combines comedy with a substantial amount of excitement. The story concerns the pugilistic conductor of a tram and its timid motorman, both of whom seek to win the affections of a girl who conducts a lunch counter near the tram depot. The girl is attracted by the rugged aspect of the pugilist, but he is temporarily inetrested in another woman and ignores her obvious efforts to engage his attentions. His affections are transferred to her when she receives a goodly sum of money as compensation for being-knocked down by a motor-car and the diminutive motorman seems further than ever from the realisation of his desires. “Honour Bound.” the second feature, is a dramatic story of prison labour, starring Estelle Taylor and George O’Brien.
