ATTIC BEDROOMS ARE ATTRACTIVE
In these days when many of us have to live in small houses and even parts of houses, the attic is no longer used as a lumber room. Often it is turned to account as a bedroom, and, as the picture shows, a very attractive bedroom it can be. There is plenty of space and the colour acheme gives it a fresh and cheery appearance. The walls and ceiling are distempered pale primrose yellow and the woodwork is painted cream. The floor is stained dark oak and polished, and there is a hair-cord
square in natural colour and green. Natural colour shantung is used for the curtains, runners, etc., and the bedspread is of cream with stripes of yellow, green and japonica red. The latter colour is found again in the candlesticks and ribbons on the ciream, pleated lampshade. Waxed light oak is used for the furniture, and the armchair is covered with green jaspe. The piece of furniture in the corner of the window is for soiled linen and it also does duty as a seat.
