REBELS OCCUPY TOWN

DESPERADOES IN MEXICO 22 GIRLS KIDNAPPED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) NEW YORK, Friday. The Mexico City correspondent of the “New Y'ork World” says rebels occupied the town of Jicotepec, in the State of Jalisco, the central State on the Pacific. They blew up the City Hall and surrounded a cinema house. When the patrons emerged the men were separated from the women and 22 of the most beautiful girls were selected by the bandits, who carried them off to the mountains.

Federal troops have been sent in pursuit of the kidnappers.
