Party Ejected

Unusual Exploit By Hamburg Diet FREE FIGHT IN HOUSE Time* Cable. Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The Berlin correspondent of “The Times” says the Hamburg Diet performed an unusual exploit, expelling an entire Parliamentary Party. The Coalition parties were particularly anxious to pass a measure before Christmas, and the Communists were determined to obstruct this. A Communist orator refused to quit the Tribune, and when the House suspended him lie refused to quit the chamber. Two officials, amid uproar, requested him to leave, but he still refused. Six other officials entered and tried force. The remaining 26 Communists attacked the officials and a free fight lasted until a police officer arrived with a strong body of police. These formed a double chain and ejected the Communists singly. All were suspended for a month. The State and Free City of Hamburg is n republic. The constitution bears the date January 7, 1921. According to this, supreme power rests with the Burgerschaft, or House of Burgesses of 160 members, elected on a democratic basis. The executive is in the hands of the Senate, composed of 15 members elected by the House of Burgesses.
