OPPOSITION IN THE ARMY TWO SECTIONS OF OPINION (United Service J LONDON, Thursday. According to the "Daily Mail” the summoning of the High Council of the Salvation Army, to decide whether General Bramwell Booth is fit to retain his office, has caused the formation of two sections of opinion. One section is intent on the continuance of the Booth family’s dynastic control; the other advocates the revision of the Army’s constitution, because the system of vesting control of its possessions and operations in one ®an has outgrown its usefulness. It is contended that the Army no longer is solely a religious body. It » a huge commercial and financial concern, employing thousands of persona It is therefore thought that its constitution should be altered to provide 'or boards of trustees, to limit the general’s autocratic power, and also that instead the general nominating Ms successor the Army should elect its own leader.
