LIFE IN GRAVE DANGER
BANK CLERK ACCIDENTALLY SHOT PLAYING WITH REVOLVER (Prom Our Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, To-day. In a serious condition in the Whangarei Hospital, with a bullet wound in his abdomen, lies Mr. Henry Samuel Kedgiey, the young bank clerk, who was accidentally shot in the Bank of New South Wales yesterday. With other bank officials, Mr. Kedgiey was in a room at the bank when Mr. William Grove put a Mexican helmet on his head. Mr. F. Potter, another employee, said, “Now all you want is a revolver,” at the same time handing a bank revolver to Mr. Grove. Unaware that it was loaded, Mr. Grove pulled the trigger. The revoJ,[ver discharged and Mr. Kedgiey fell with a wound in the abdomen. It was seen that he was seriously injured and after medical attendance he was taken to the Whangarei Hospi- | tal. i An operation was performed immediately. It is understood that, although Mr. Kedgiey came through the operation successfully, his injuries are of | such a nature that his life is in grave danger.
