MATAMATA COUNTY IS POPULAR WITH MOTORISTS MORE BITUMEN GOING ON (from our Oum Correspondent J FUTARURU, To-day. The roads in Matamata County are most favourably known by motorists, and it is no idle statement to say that it is possible to tell the county boundaries by the excellent condition of the roads. A large section of these roads has been bituminised and on Friday last the council accepted a tender from Bray and Co. for bitumen work on a further 16 miles, as follow; Hlnuera-Te Poi (seven miles), £9,913 (estimate £9,575); Putaruru-Arapuni (13 miles), £14,708 (estimate £14,703). On the above the council receive £2 for £1 subsidy from the Main Highways Board.
