MIGRANTS TO CANADA. —The Canadian Minister of Immigration, Mr. P- Fork©, announced that the British Government and the British steamship lines had reached an agreement to institute a £lO passage rat© to Canada for all British migrants, in place of the old rat© of £l9. The new arrangement will come into force on January A.P.A.-U.S, CHINESE EXECUTED. —The Chinese law student, Chiang Yi Miao, who murdered his young wife while they on their honeymoon, was executed a t Manchester on Thursday. No relatives or compatriots were present. This is stated to be probably owing to the fact that before his death Miao professed Christianity.—A. and N.Z.-P.A. DEATHS IN A MINE.—A message from Lima, Peru, says that deaths variously estimated to number from 27 to 64 are believed to have resulted from the flooding of a gallery in the CamPano mine, near the Andean mining c ity of Morococha. The disaster was p aused by the bed of a pond subsiding 80 that the water poured into the shaft.
