DEATH FROM BURNS

ACCIDENT TO MAORI BOY Tress Association GISBORNE, Friday. A Maori boy, Joseph Wi Rangi, aged eight years, has died from burns received in a fire at Puha. The boy, and a girl aged 30 years, were alone in the house, their grandmother having gone out eeling. A lamp exploded, setting fir© to the bedclothes. The girl managed to put the fire out, wrapped the boy in a blanket, and carried him to a neighbour’s house. He was subsequently taken to hospital, where he died.
