SERIOUS AFGHAN REVOLT

FIGHTING AT JALALABAD REBELS LOSE MANY MEN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 10.55' a.m. DELHI, Friday. Reports from the frontier indicate that the revolt is serious. Fighting continues round Jalalabad, where the rebels attempted to undermine the town hall. They were attacked by troops under an Afghan commander, whose son was captured and shot. Hugiana tribesmen are holding up the Kabul road at Gandamuk, thus preventing the movement of Afghan reinforcements. Afghan airplanes bombed the Shinwari villages round Jalalabad, causing many casualties. .During the fighting on December 3. the Shinwaris had 800 casualties and many captured.
