ENGLISH COUNCIL SHOWS THRILLERS FOR THREEPENCE
First-class films are being shown in Barnsley. Yorkshire, at prices ranging from 3d to Is. The Barnsley Town Council is running its own municipal cinema and is considering producing a musical comedy this Christmas. The Mayor of Barnsley is enthusiastic about the new enterprise which is calculated to benefit the citizens and produce a modest profit for the council. “We shall give our public viewer. “I think Barnsley previewer. I think Barnsley prefers thrillers, although we may have one or two educational films, but we shall aim at giving full entertainment value.”
