HIS MAJESTY'S
“MIDNIGHT FROLICS" “The Midnight Frolics” must he giving just the kind of entertainment that the public appreciates, for the theatre has been packed every night since the start of the season. Clem Dawe and Eric Edgley are the producers, and the main fun-makers of the revue. They have reputations on both sides of the Tasman as artists in comedy and they are at the top of their form. In half a dozen sketches and “potted plays” they make the audience yell with laughter. One of the big attractions of the “Midnight Frolics” is the jazz band under the conductorship of the Russian fiddler, Gregory Ivanoff. Clem Dawe takes the baton for a while, and gives a marvellous exhibition of tonductorial agility. Dance and song numbers are plentiful in the “Midnight Frolics,” the attractive "girls’" and the talented “boys” all knowing their syncopation. Dorothy White, capable comedienne, sings a little as well. The vocal trio, Lilian Crisp, William Perryman and Oscar Beck, harmonise pleasantly in some good numbers, and each of them makes, a welcome reappearance-in a solo. Phyliis Aiaery dances delightfully and helps the cause of jazz along. “The Midnight Frolics” will stage their bright show in a matinee this afternoon and each evening.
