REVUE AT HIS MAJESTY’S

BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT A lighthearted, clever and gay entertainment is “The Midnight Frolics’’ Revue at His Majesty’s Theatre. Mr. Clem 13 awe and his partner, Eric Edgerley, are, as usual, most entertaining. When they hold the stage the audience gasps from one laugh to another, and all the “Frolics” are bright and well presented. Mr. Gregory Ivanoff, the Russian violinist, plays some good numbers extremely well, and the “Frolics” Ja/i Band is jazz at its best. But when Mr. Clem Daw© takes command of the conducting of the band and conducts as he thinks it should be done, the audience is convulsed. There is plenty of good dancing, excellent singing, with a touch of pathos thrown in here and there to leaven the fun. Potted plays entiing on an unexpected, snappy line .give zest to the show, and the dancing of Miss Phyllis Amery is charming. “Atmospherics” is a “Frolic” showing what happens sometimes when we tune in on the wireless. In “Atmospherics” we get three different cities broadcasting: how to treat ailments, a tour among savages, and a tramdriver talking of trams, respectively, and the mixture is riotously funny. "Unnecessary Remarks,” too. is a good number, as also are "A Wife’s Husband” and “Cook Your Goose.” When the curtain falls finally on a three hours’ entertainment the audience is entirely satisfied with a firstclass show.
